We will teach you the most important aspects of your dog's education and how to help your puppy develop into the well behaved and balanced pet or gundog you have always wanted.
The most critical time in your dog's life is right now. Puppyhood is the time when your influence and what you do with your puppy will have a lifelong effect.
The help and guidance you receive from Mere Brow Gundogs can make a real difference on the success of your relationship with your dog.
All basic obedience training is covered. These classes will give your puppy the essential puppy socialisation that is crucial to prevent fear aggression later on.
Our training is not only the foundation to the future of your puppy's life it will also help get your puppy responding to you more. Our classes will help you gain an understanding of responsible dog ownership and the psychology of the puppy training. This will give you the understanding of what to do when your puppy does unwanted behaviours too.
We encourage play during the training, making it fun for the puppy, which helps in their development.
As your puppy develops over the coming months, Paul will teach you the most important aspect of your dog's education and how to develop your puppy into the well behaved dog you have always wanted. We hold puppy socialisation and obedience training on Monday and Tuesday evenings for puppies up to the age of twelve months.
Puppies will get the opportunity to meet and play with other puppies off lead in our fenced, outdoor pens or in our purpose built indoor training facility. The earlier you get your puppy accepting and happy around dogs and people they don't know the happier they will be around people and other dogs that they meet.
We can help you get your puppy off to a positive and rewarding start. We'll discuss any areas that you are finding particularly challenging including feeding, crate training, early retrieving and hunting stimulation. We'll cover what behaviour to expect from your puppy as it matures helping you build a strong bond at an early age.
Training is geared towards the speciality of your breed and always starts with the basics and good control at close quarters. This could include sit, stay, recall, heeling, stopping on the whistle, calm around other dogs, steadiness and retrieving.
Your puppy will enjoy discovering textures like thistles, course grass, brambles and water etc.
Your progress will depend on how much you practice in between training sessions, your confidence as a handler and your dog.
